[ Alec leaves bringing the horses around to Faraday- he’s already on his way to the spot where his portal is. Opening up a tear in reality takes time, even if it’s already there, just covered. By the time Faraday rounds the corner with the horses, Alec already has one rune hanging in the air in purple light, another half-completed as he works out the marks by memory.
Colonel is old hat at this by now, and usually he waits patiently while Alec does his spells, but something has him agitated, same as Jack. Alec is determined not to let it distract him and keep up his casting, but the reason for the horses’ nervousness becomes all too clear—
